To create a job click the blue add button, top left. Choose your report: we’ll go for an eicr. Your report gets a default name, but you can change this. Click create and start entering data.

When you have finished entering data, click close, and the job will appear in the jobs table
Next is test instruments
The admin button is where you manage your account
When you have finished your session – top right, to log out

In this short video we look at how to create and use circuit templates. To get started click the circuit templates button. Circuit templates save you typing out the same details again and again. I’ve got a lot covered here but i need to add a dishwasher template to my list

To create a template i click on the blue add button, top left
And then enter the circuit details
Sometimes it is easier to add template details in table view
If you want to change any of the details – say, you have made a mistake – just click on the cell
Having seen how easy it is to create circuit templates, let’s see how easy it is to use them
You still have to fill in your test results, number of points, etc., but it’s a really quick and easy way to fill a board
Last of all the dishwasher circuit you have just created

Certsuite comes with powerful search tools that will help you keep track of your growing job list

·Click on any column header to reverse the alphabetical order
You can use any part of a job name to find a job
The following examples all use the names of cities, but any part of an address will do
You can even find a job using just the first part of a postcode, as in our final example

The copy job feature enables you to use one job as the template for another. First select the job you want to copy. I have chosen an EICR. Next select copy from the actions button

I am going to create another EICR, but I could use this report as a template for any job … a minor works for example
Note that the job details, and those of the installation, the client, the inspector and the authoriser have all been copied from the original

In a typical circuit table many of the columns will be filled with the same values. Here are some examples in an 8-way power and lighting board. In fact just over half the columns in this table have a single value in them.

To avoid you having to type in the same value repeatedly, Certsuite enables you to set defaults for these columns
There are two lighting circuits where I know that the conductors are a different size to the rest
Having done that I can now fill in the blanks in those two columns, by choosing default values from the drop down menus
Note that the values in the two lighting circuits remain unchanged, but that all the surrounding blanks have been filled in – saving time and effort
The values in these columns are the same, but I could have pre-filled any of the cells with a different value if I had wanted, just as I did with the two lighting circuits
If I want to change any value – say the arc fault test button failed on circuit 7 – I can do that by clicking on the relevant cell and using the drop down menu

Certsuite produces certificates and reports in a professional A4 format. But the interface does not replicate a certificate on the screen. Instead it breaks each job down into a series of small steps.

We are looking here at the steps in an EICR, but the same principle applies to all of the certs in the range
If you don’t want to see the menu all the time you can hide it: just click ‘unpin menu’
And then inspector details
A quick recap – to hide the in-job menu, click unpin menu
To keep the menu in view, click pin menu

Whether you are a sole trader, or a large company, Certsuite is designed to help manage your work flow. New jobs always appear in the current jobs table, but this list will become unmanageably long if all your jobs stay here forever.

And so Certsuite offers three other lists that you can move your jobs to
And here it is

To delete a job in Certsuite you first need to archive it. Start by choosing your job. Then go to the blue actions button. Select archive from the drop-down menu. Select yes when asked to confirm

Note that the job has gone from current jobs
Remember too that if a job is archived, and not deleted, it can always be restored to current jobs at a later date

In this short video we look at how to manage contacts. That’s all of the addresses associated with all of the jobs that you have got. Let’s say you are undertaking an EICR for a new client, named Mrs Robinson

We don’t have any client details for her, so we enter those now
And here they are – now saved in the contacts table
Here is the contact that you want
And here are the client details, all filled in
Note that because we filled in client details for Mrs. Robinson, the relevant box is automatically ticked

It is easy to buy more licences for other team members by visiting the Licences and Payment section.

Choose the number of licences required
Select Monthly or Annual payment
Check price and click Buy Now

Find your way around

This video shows you around CertSuite if you’re seeing it for the first time.
It shows you where you see your list of jobs, and where you can manage your contacts, test instruments and your circuit templates.
It also shows you where you can provide an image of your signature and logos for your company and your accreditation body.

Getting Started

This video show you how to open a job, in this case it’s an EICR. Then you can add a board and a circuit, add results to them and add an RCD. It also shows how to add observations and how easy it is to fill in the Schedule of Inspections.

Using the menu

Why doesn’t CertSuite look like a certificate on screen? This video explains that and shows you how easy it is to fill in the different sections of a certificate. The great thing is that the entry screens are very similar no matter what the certificate looks like when it’s printed out

Create a board

Here we take and EICR and show you how to add several distribution boards very quickly, each with its own set of circuits and RCDs. It’s just the same for an MEW, EIC, or even an EVCIR (an EICR for an Electric Vehicle Charging Point) or EVCIC.
It shows you how to use a Circuit Template which as you’ll see, can save you loads of time
